China Textile Academy

China Textile Academy (CTA), founded in 1956, was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Textile Industry and was transformed into a large-scale science and technology enterprises group directly under the leadership of the central government in 1999.CTA is the largest and comprehensive R&D organization and high-tech industry group in China’s textile industry.With a staff of 1300,CTA has successfully established a well-organized and professional research team with its advanced facilities and equipment in labs and pilot plants.CTA has successfully set up a series of affiliated researching centers to serve the whole industry,namely,National Engineering Research Center of Industrial Textile,National Engineering Research Center of Synthetic Fiber,Productivity Promotion Center for Textile Industry,National Textile Quality Supervision and Testing Center as well as Standardization Institute of Textile Industry. CTA is also the technological innovation base for China’s textile industry.

In recent years,CTA has accelerated its step in the reform of corporative system with the target to becoming a leading high-tech textile group and the technological innovation base. The R & D Center of CTA not only provides the technical support for the affiliated production enterprises and cooperative partners, but also engages in the research and development for basic, key and future-oriented technologies in cooperation with some large-sized enterprises and universities. The center also devotes to the digestion, innovation, integration and assembly of the introduced technologies to expedite the technological progress and upgrade the technological level of the whole industry.The Productivity Promotion Center for Textile Industry mainly serves the small and medium-sized enterprises by providing technical support, technical consultant and technical transfer. Also, the center is responsible for the development of national textile standards, metrology and quality supervision in textile industry nationwide in accordance with the principle of fairness and objectiveness. By the improvement and innovation of technologies and enlargement of production capacity, the core competitiveness and market shares are constantly strengthened in four main business areas,namely chemical fiber engineering, new textile material,textile chemical and textile machinery and electric automation. CTA provides an extensive range of business, including textiles,chemical fiber,machinery manufacturing, biological chemicals,machinery and electric automation,real estate development, import and export trade etc.. Total annual turnover, including product sales and engineering contract has reached approximately RMB 900 million.

Not only CTA has established a very close cooperation relationship with some key textile enterprises, universities nationwide, but also established and maintained good relationship of exchange, cooperation and joint-venture with some UN organizations and almost 100 large-scale companies, universities and institutes from about 20 countries over the past 40 years.
